4A Random Thoughts Thread

My top 10
1. South Pointe - They're the champs till they ain't the champs...

2. Northwestern - Paige Wofford has them back to normal. Coming from 5A gives them an edge unless they start getting beat....

3. South Florence - a lot of people are being naive about their quarterback. He's good.

4. Ridgeview - I'll show them some love just because they're coming from 5a and they did well.

tie 5. Greenwood - we have everything coming back. Only lost to Dutch Fork and barely lost to South Pointe.

tie 5. Beaufort - I don't know what they have coming back but Bryce Lybrand has that program rolling. They were the state championship runner up last year and are getting zero respect.

7. Greenville - it's absolutely ridiculous that people are ranking them one and two. They haven't done anything on the field to prove that they're worthy of that ranking. Yes they are good no doubt but Greenwood has beaten them two years straight. The only reason they made it to the semi-finals last year is because they got to avoid South Pointe until the fourth round. There I said it. It is what it is. Yeah they hit the high school transfer portal in the offseason. They've had D1 prospects the past 2 years and still couldn't beat Greenwood who was in the process of rebuilding their program with a new coach.

8. Hartsville- I don't know what they have coming back but they made a deep run later in the season last year.

9. Westside - they are big and physical. If they recruit them a quarterback look out.

10. AC Flora - we'll see what they are with the new coach. They've been pretty good for the last few years so I'll definitely give them the edge as far as the top 10 goes.

* Dark Horse - Greer ....... I just have a ton of respect for their program and the pride they take in it. They've had some key players transfer to IMG and whatnot over the years. They were really young last year. Those young players will be more grown up this year. It won't be long before their program is back to standard for them.

They are 3A for the next two seasons...

I wouldn't think much of a 3A poll that doesn't include Beaufort....

Man I feel like an idiot

Need to make an adjustment to my poll

1. South Pointe

4. Myrtle Beach- I feel like a real jackass for leaving them out. They've always been in the top 5 for the last few years

2. South Florence- don’t know much about them but I’m giving credit to them from what I’ve heard
3. Greenwood - Really like what I’m seeing at Greenwood, they have a lot of talent coming up. They do have a question at Quarterback but if they get someone good at QB I don’t see why they can’t be playing for at least upperstate
4. Northwestern. They competed very well in 5a don’t see why they don’t won’t do the same in 4a
5 Greenville? Not sure what kind of recruiting Greg has done this off-season, I’m sure he’s loaded up with talent and ready to go like every year. He had a lot of recruiting to do so That’s why I have a question mark
6 Myrtle beach- they’re well coached and have a lot of talent. They always do and more than likely always will.

10 Greer, not sure what Greer team we will get this season, they have an easy region the only team that can give them a challenge is Lauren’s but Lauren’s did lose a lot of talent last season we will see.

Take this from someone who saw all of the best teams in Region VI in the playoffs last year, unless their QB gets hurt again, South Florence will be in Columbia in December. They were the only team that we played in November that could match us Athlete for athlete. They are good and will win their Region and the Lower State. Not joking or kidding.

We return a lot of starters and our kids have really been hitting the weight room.

I was very impressed at the spring game. I won't make any bold predictions, but this team does have the potential to be playing in Columbia. We've gotta' get through region 4A-6 first and our non-region schedule is no (cup)cake walk.

Yeah, Region will be very tough and who cares about non-region, SCHSL obviously doesn't.

Speaking of being the underdog my hartsville red foxes are just that but I bet by seasons end we will make another run speed for days size and height it all comes down to the offensive line if they can block we will be tough to beat returning QB can throw it around and run and if nobody knows our returning RBS jshawn Anderson and Carmelo McDaniel they will Anderson committed to Georgia southern he is a bull while McDaniel is just a pure natural rb but im most excited about the offensive line huge center big guards nice sized tackles and it don't mean a thing if we don't take every chance everyday to practice hard get better put in that work use the non region to see what works if it cost you a game so what it's non region use now to get ready for later gotta work red foxes gotta work
