Gray vs Abbeville
This is the best playoff game in the state. I’m going to go out on a limb and call this the 2A state championship game ( no disrespect because we know its not) .

And shouldn't even be being played. All the wanna be IMG recruiting types ought to be in their own classification.

Re: Gray vs Abbeville
Think of it this way. Abbeville is a true 2A power from a small 2A town. Grey is a 2A charter that gets the best athletes in a metropolitan area of 2 hundred thousand at least. Sure Abbeville has won many state titles but I'm here to warn everyone the days of small public high schools winning state titles is coming to an abrupt end. These loaded charter and private schools are taking over the State and allowed to have loaded rosters against schools scraping up enough guys to fill a roster. Its a travesty SC allows this. I have a bad feeling this year Grey starts a trend of these schools winning public school state titles. Something needs to be done. Put charter/private in their own leagues. If not 3/4 of 1 and 2A schools my as well not field teams.

All Charter, Private, Magnet schools, along with smaller schools that don’t field a football team should be kicked to scisa.
On the flip side of this you still have public schools that get away with recruiting and bending the rules too. The whole schsl needs revamping and cleaning house.

Couldn’t find a meter, but here’s 4 bucks!

You are right. A couple schools in Greenville are pretty good at it. And goes on in Columbia. Not sure what you can do about it. Nobody cares if a kid goes to another school because they have a better band program. But their needs to be something done about the coaches that overtly recruit. Of course, they don't actually do it. They put folks on staff tied to the youth leagues and do it that way.

This Indian will be pulling for Abbeville. Only town I know of that is as crazy for high school ball as Gaffney is, lol. Son lives there now and I love those rough house dogs.

Definitely agree on a couple of things, Gray should be playing a AAAA or AAAAA schedule and competing with teams in those classifications. No way should they be in AA. I sincerely hope Coach Nichols, his staff, his team and the Panther faithful can deliver a win. Because this IS the State AA championship game, no doubt. And finally, Rough House dogs are the absolute BEST!!!
Re: Gray vs Abbeville
Abbeville is playing with the entire weight of the SCHSL behind them in this one. Go Panthers!. Find a way to win for the real High Schools in the League, not the athletic academies who are playing for the money to buy more recruits.
The "Godfather" didn't whine like The "Slobfather" is doing, when he got INDICTED!!!!!

If Grey don't have to follow the rules like everyone else they shouldn't be allowed in the playoffs. Let them find people to play in the regular season only.
