Surely you jest, I'm sure there are dozens of "Congrats Lexington" topics up over at PFT.

Haha! Nice! RC, head over to PFT and you'll get Ruben's subtle joke.

I said Fort D would struggle against Upper State powers. Beating Goose Creek, Spring Valley, and Boiling Springs do not qualify as upstate powers. Beat Dorman and win the low country's first D 1 state title since Stratford in 1999 and respect will be earned. As for the next two years, don't put all your chips into that yet, just ask Spartanburg. Everyone assumed they would walk through the playoffs this year, but not the case. Repeating is VERY hard.
^ I gave up thinking we'd get any respect from him weeks ago. If we manage to win by like 3 pts against Dorman, the respect won't be there because some fluky play would've resulted in us winning. If we won in a blowout, the respect won't be there because he'll make up another excuse. He'll never give Fort any credit for anything so I'm not going to lose sleep over it...lol.
Football fan down played our wins. Ill give him spring valley but we beat boiling springs by 22. The same team who beat spartanburg, the same team who played toe to toe with dorman and byrnes losing by 7 and 5 respectively. Still he dont give us respect. Beat a very good goose creek team twice, the same team that just put out the defending division 1 4a state champs out. If we win, whether by 1 or 21, he will still down play us and probably give excuses why an upstate team lose.

Well played! I enjoy my crow cooked medium well with a loaded baked potato as my side. Congrats! I didn't see it happening but Dorman is deserving! Peaking at the perfect time!
Well you can take the boy out of PFT but I guess you can't take PFT out of the boy!
Glad you were a good sport about that.
What''s the fun without some prognostication anyway?
Maybe we'll meet up in Columbia on Saturday?

Obviously you haven't read my posts regarding Fort Dorchester. My posts have been about Fort D, the program, not Fort D the 2015 football team. Historically, Fort Dorchester, as a program, has not been up to par with upper state teams. This year's team has its chance to change that for the future on Saturday. Fort Dorchester has yet to beat a team, from outside of the lowcountry, that is deserving of a "Wow". That can change on Saturday with a win against the Cavaliers. Dorman has proven their worth throughout the season with a very tough schedule and have gotten hot at the right time. If Fort Dorchester can win, I am happy to give them credit for having the best team this year.

Mate, I'm not worried about the respect from you...lol. The fact that one game will decide whether we get respect from you is a bit of a laugh. You base us off our "history" yet one game will change that? One game will change our "history" of a football program in your eyes? You're talking about basing respect off of our program's history but you give Dorman the respect and their worth based off their 2015 season. So what are you basing things on? The history or the season?
Face it, you don't respect us and you never will. Regardless of what happens in Columbia we won't gain your respect whether to validate this season or rewrite our "history" in your eyes. If anything we'll lose whatever little respect you may or may not have had building up inside to save a bit of face. First it's "Oh you don't beat upper state teams" and then we beat Boiling Springs (who plays in the same region as Dorman so a similar schedule) and it's "Oh you don't beat traditional powers of upper state teams who have had a tough schedule and have proved their worth by getting hot at the right time." What's next? We have to beat upper state teams that are nationally ranked, away from home, have a tough schedule that's approved by you, while starting the game 28 points down, and we need to win by 25+ points?
Just own it that you do not and will never respect Fort regardless of what it does and especially what it does in Columbia. I'd have more respect for you if you could and would do that.
Fortgrad and 2002Patriot...just going by your screen names I know that like me you have been paying attention Fort football for 20+ years or close to it. Don't waste your time on the respect stuff, not any disrespect to footballfan4343 because I just mean this in general about sports and not him specifically. Even in pro sports even the best teams (and ones that deserve respect the most) are constantly disrespected for one reason or another...the Patriots (New England) have been dominant in football for a decade but how many people bring up deflategate, or spygate, or the tuck rule, or whatever when they talk about them? The Yankees (were somewhat recently) pretty dominant, and they were constantly ridiculed for steroids or buying their teams. You go down the line in any sport and there are always going to be fans who disrespect another team for one reason or another.
Let's say Fort Dorchester blows out Dorman on Saturday...like 42-7 or something crazy...will people respect Fort? Some will, but the ones that don't respect us now won't suddenly respect us if we win. They will say "well Dorman was just a 9 seed", or they will say "Dorman was beat up after a tough playoff run", or say "had it been Byrnes they would have lost", or that "the real 4A champ is Northwestern", or they will say "Fort played a 15,10,3, and then 9 seed in the playoffs so it's not impressive". And should Fort go undefeated next season and head into the playoffs people will still call this team "just a lowcountry team" and predict us to lose in the 2nd round. It's just the way it is.
So stop worrying about it. Enjoy the ride. I know I am. The last thing I have been worried about is what someone in Greenville or Rock Hill who probably couldn't tell you the mascot or city that Fort Dorchester is in thinks about the 2015 team. I have been seeing all year that we just don't have the speed down here, or coaching, or athletes, or whatever...yet have any of these guys even seen a Fort Dorchester player in person lol? People are gonna think what they wanna think, who cares. We're heading to state for the first time ever and I'm just gonna be proud of the guys for fighting hard to get there, if the upstate wants to continue with the delusion that there is some imaginary line dividing the football talent in the state that's their problem.

I'm more worried about LaPrad's coaching this coming up weekend then I am about FootballFan...lol. I just hope he can continue to make proper adjustments if and when things don't go right. That seems to be his achilles. I'm enjoying the ride and would enjoy it more if I could be there but jobs call and not able to be in the area.
I threw out enough bait already caught plenty.fort beat a very good creek team.there was a lot of wholly cow looks on the dark side over there that was enough.
Genuine worry.was awesome to see.
