The 4A "Playoff Point" system:

Defeat a Big-16 team with a winning record: 4.5
Lose to a Big-16 team with a winning record: 3.5
Defeat any other 4A team: 4
Lose to any other 4A team: 3

Defeat a 3A team with a winning record: 4
Lose to a 3A team with a winning record: 3
Defeat a 3A team with a losing record: 3
Lose to a 3A team with a losing record: 2

Defeat a 2A team with a winning record: 3
Lose to a 2A team with a winning record: 1
Defeat a 2A team with a losing record: 2
Lose to a 2A team with a losing record: -1

Points for 1A opponents only matter to Bluffton,....and they don't really matter, Whale Branch will be a mark-off.

Big-16 teams that have secured a winning record:
Hillcrest, Byrnes, Dorman, Spring Valley

Big-16 teams that have secured a losing record:
Clover, Carolina Forest

2A & 3A teams that have secured a winning record:
3A: Belton-Honea Path, Crestwood, DW Daniel, Greer, Hilton Head, Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Socastee, Southside, Strom Thurmond
2A: Silver Bluff, Woodland

2A & 3A teams that have secured a losing record:
3A: Airport, Clinton, Eastside, James Island, Union County
2A: Lake City, Mid-Carolina

I need y'alls help. Below is a list of out-of-state teams that have played SC 3A and 4A teams this year. I need to know what Class the SCHSL has determined for each of them for the calculation of "playoff points". I know that they do it based on the school's 135ADM numbers, but I don't want to rely on "internet information" to try and figure them out. There are often adjustments made to the Dept. of Education numbers that skew the results.

I'm told that the SCHSL provides this info to all of the schools' ADs. I will be very thankful if anyone has access to the info and can share it with me. Thanks!

Now that you have your own website, maybe you could send the SCHSL or some school's Athletic Director an email (letter) requesting the information as a member of the media.

Change your username from South Florence Band Dad to Summerville Football Player Dad. I bet the SCHSL will reply to you then!
