Bruins turn back scrappy Sumter

FLORENCE, S.C. — South Florence’s offense had its worst scoring game of the season Friday night against Sumter.

No worries for South, though. Its defense lived up to its billing in the Bruins’ 28-21 victory at Memorial Stadium, and South’s special teams turned in two big scoring plays in the teams’ Region 6-4A opener.

A brutal win, but ill take it.

Sadfort is coming.................just sayin'. Congrats on this fine season. Too bad that the rest of that region is so weak this year. Tough games during the season are a blessing come playoff time. It is hard to get a real handle on how good your team really is until you match up against another really good team. Sadfort will be that measuring stick for sure. Beat them, and you get both thumbs up from me. Until then, just one and a half........

Crestwood is a pretty good team, just ask Sumter and Hartsville. But you are right, nobody outside of the Pee Dee will give us too much credit until we knock off a really good 4A team.
