Does anyone challenge Oceanside in 3A this fall? I think it'll be hard. I don't see BHP being the same after losing that RB, and MVP will obviously be in the mix by having the best player in the state. Interested to see how MVP does tho after losing their QB.

Early on after the Oceanside -Dutch Fork game, I told everyone that Oceanside was the real deal and no one in 3A believed me.
Oceanside will repeat.

I think he graduated, I heard a QB from Dorman is now at MVP.

Oh yeah. He was at Greenville High a few years ago so that makes sense. He was pretty good.

Even the broadcasters at Oceanside knew last year they called the Dillon-Oceanside Game the De Facto State Championship. I consider that Loris game an abberation especially looking at how they faired against Oceanside compared to us. Oceanside coaches weren't fooled. Although Loris beat us the broadcasters said they knew Dillon would be the best team they saw in the playoffs.
Loris was short handed in the game with Oceanside. Unfortunately injuries took out #3 (Duce) he did not dress out for the game. He played both sides of the ball and that kind of threw everything off that night. It went horribly wrong from the opening kickoff given Ocean a free touchdown.
Now the Loris Dillon game was different. Maybe Dillon had an off night and didn’t play their best ball. I saw #1 for Dillon just barely miss a wide open pass across the middle late in the game. That was a sure touchdown but he was running so fast he slightly out ran the ball which hit him around the waist area just couldn’t hang on. That’s not the only pass Dillon missed on. That game could’ve went bad for loris also. I think Loris is on the right path though.

I think Newberry has a chance to really compete for it again next year. They got a terrible draw getting Dillon early in the playoffs because of the entire Marlboro situation. They are returning almost everyone on both sides of the ball. Will be fun to follow
With that being said, Oceanside is going to be tough for anyone to beat. I guess that is the nature of the beast nowadays
