Early look at 2025 for Div 1 and Div 2 in 5A. Interesting... who will rise to the top. Of course, I am in full homer mode and pick DF to be the best in Div 1. DF fans have long looked to the 2025 and 2026 seasons to be special. I knew 2024 would be good, but the defense was one of those special units that come along rarely. For DF, to me it all starts with their DL and OL...and again, they will return a strong unit led by Walker on the DL and Lorenzo on the OL. Offing is back with a strong group of receivers- I expect Anderson Bean to have a great season. Watch Raleigh Salters at LB. He is an outstanding player.
That being said, I know the HC at the 'Ville said they were losing a lot of key seniors, but he has a couple special players returning at WR and RB, so I think they will be just fine, and for me would be the favorites from the Lower State once again. With the talent pool at Fort D, you can never count them out- add Sumter and Ridge View to the mix as well- watch out for James Island- I expect Carolina Forest and Ashley Ridge to be in the mix as well- Stratford has the talent as well. Upper State, the same ole cast I would assume, DF, Spartanburg, Byrnes, Boiling Springs, Dorman- curious what Lexington and their new HC will do, and how River Bluff handles the coach stepping down- will Mann be ok or will they return to their routine level of play.
Div 2- Looks like Gaffney's evil plan to escape the DF playoff beatdowns by splitting 5A, didn't work and NW spoiled their trophy case expansion in 2024. The Injuns are not standing idly by and are shopping in the portal, hot and heavy. I know the NW faithful are believing they will just reload but losing that QB will hurt- special player. Folks told me after the 2023 season Mann would simply reload, but when you lose a 3000+ yard passer and a 1500+ yard WR... that's hard to duplicate as we saw with Mann this past season, and NW may have the same problem. Upper State, I expect Hanna to be sneaky good, Hillcrest always has the talent pool. Lower State- Irmo lost a lot, and it will be hard to replace that type production and leadership, but Coach Brand will figure it out I expect. IF Coach Pelham is still at White Knoll, they will always be dangerous. Dirty Myrtle is always loaded with talent...Chapin, the Stags at Slicks' Corner, and Duck Ditch...in it as well.
I probably left out some good teams- not enough coffee yet. If I had to wager, I would say the Injuns raise the Div 2 trophy and DF gets their 10th title in Div 1.

It's Dutch Fork and everyone else in Div 1 this year, this might be the most dominant team we have seen yet from TK.

FD under construction. Best rb in area and another key player left for ashley ridge .some staff changes new oc from fla. We shall see what happens new coach has a year under his belt probably assessed situation and made changes .heard some coaching changes (i have no idea) .looks like accountability changes to stabilize the locker room ect . Ofcourse this is what it looks like is happening.
Coach has a long merge to get back on the highway. I see a year or two more if the changes are successful.
No animosity towards the HC .he's doing what he's hired to do . I don't see them being contenders anytime soon. Lotta work to be done . Hopefully he has the support to do it.
Maybe the transfer portal will produce. But only being here a short time won't help that.
Berkeley should be productive thier coach been here a few years .if not is that seat hot?
To many transplants watering down the gene pool in DD2 .
Actually heard a bat in my hood say they should do away with sports just have art and music.
Told her she'd be more successful at suicide than that happening and we'd probably be better off if she chose that option . Guess I won't be invited to her parties .oh well.

Gotta see how the Greenville county transfers play out. JL Mann or Greenville will either be 1 good team or 2 sub par teams.
NW new QB will be good. I’ve seen clips of the kid so I don’t expect much fall off. Maybe growing pains early but he is really good.
It will probably be Spartanburg & DF again in 5A 1 upper state. I don’t know much about lower state.
5A 2 upper state will be Gaffney or NW again.

I will do my break down on each region .. Just my 2 cents

Give us some lil offseason insights!
First congrats to all the new hires hopefully God has put men in these young men life that are going to make them future leaders!
Region 2 5A
Gaffney. Lots of Change. Think with the new coordinators Gaffney will be the team to beat in the Region and if they stay free from the injury bug, they could put together something special! I was disappointed in the OL play last year! So that will be a big question and will their defense be good enough to stop NW and TL Hanna! So, Gaffney fans I can't crown you guys' state champs until I see those questions answered!
Broken record with Byrnes has the talent with the RB / WR think the Rogers kid @ QB showed he has potential! The defense is always solid! Will the Shaw effect lose more players to new Transfer Rule or will New Stadium Land More Players is the BIGGGGG Question for this program!
Dorman is another school that is in a make it or break it year! The talent is never a question with the numbers at Dorman, but this program has gone downhill. Coach to me is on hot seat or it should be veryyyyyyyyyyyyy warm!
Springs . Just a program that always seems like they can either beat any team in the state one week or get beat by any team in the state the next week: lol: Think the new coach has done a great job. think his Biggest Test going forward will be Keeping players there instead of going 3miles down the street to MVP! Just see with MVP being like the hot Topic having one of the Top Recruits in the Country ..Better STATS for your Resume and you have better chance of winning a state title!
Burg. well, this may be shocker, but I think they will struggle this year! Last year was to me their best shot! They lost a lot on both sides ! However, good coaching helps! Great RB, Good QB , good young WR ..
REGION 1 5A next Week!

I am still here Oldman.
I continue to find it hilarious that Ole TK wont play any team ranked in the top ten nationally. He gets scared when he gets out of the pocket. Ole Indy habits are HARD to break.

The only add for the Trojans is the last time we replaced a QB (A Mr. Football finalist) we advanced to the LeNorris Sellars bowl with a 10th grader taking the snaps. The growing pains looked like 89 in week 0. I don’t know what 2025 will look like, but the running game will be solid and the defense should be strong as well. The new QB has some hype. I look forward to seeing it on Friday nights.

NW will always be a contender with just the athletes and coaching they have! I think Gaffney/TL Hanna may be preseason ranked ahead of them just based on what they have retuning!

No argument on the preseason rankings.
