We lost some very good linebackers and it showed but I think our defense will learn from this game and continue to be one of the best in the state. Hyatt was unstoppable and is due for a huge senior year. If we had Hoff back I’m sure we would have had at least two more touchdowns on the ground. He is a big loss but I’m impressed with Hall’s ability to catch out of the backfield. We won’t have to face a team that big again so that’s definitely a plus. I’m ready see Mallard Creek be Gaffney. That’s going to be a very good one.

He’s a beast but they had no one who could guard Jalin Hyatt. Olenchuk had a much better game than Noller as well.

The LBers for DF are small. Line much smaller than last season. DBs seemed to struggle a bit but not terrible. Olenchuk is very composed.

MC’s front seven is big and fast. Impressive ball players. O line was very good. Simpson is five star linebacker but a stud at running back, also.

Gaffney game will tell us more about DF. Thought they were a state champ last year at this time. Jury is out right now. They sucked it up and went hard against a physically superior team.

DF won’t have to play a team with that size all over the field for the rest of the year and despite that they still competed to a tight game. MC has a very good team this year. This is also DF’s first game against a tough team I imagine in a couple of games they’ll be rolling.

Both teams wanted to finish but the second delay time was another hour and they wouldn’t have returned to the field until 2:30 so it was just called. I hope there’s still talk about finishing on Monday.
