Very well stated. Like Michael Jackson sang, The Man in the Mirror...bigdog2003 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 11:47 pmSo something that happened almost 60 years ago is why people today can't go to a high school football game and act like civilized humans?bringthewood wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 10:42 pmNope. It goes back 40 more years before NAFTA. Look up the infamous quote from LBJ on his Great Society program and its passage.bigdog2003 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 10:17 pmStill pushing that I see. You're right, people have can't control themselves because of a policy from 1994. You would think in the last 18 years people would have been able to figure something out, but I guess not.greenjewel wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 10:06 amThis is how people act when they have nothing to lose. Poverty is the greatest curse on any society and we are seeing it play out in all directions here in the south now that all of our industry is gone. NAFTA brought us all of this and what we have seen is just the beginning; it will get much worse and may never get better. We must become much smarter as a society before there will be any improvement at all.1 CAT FAN wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 9:51 amThere’s an unfortunate trend continuing in South Carolina and across the nation that must be stopped: the bad behavior of coaches, parents and fans at high school athletic events.
Not only is this behavior unacceptable and embarrassing, but it’s also having serious consequences on the future of high school sports.
Unfortunately, bad behavior at high school athletic events has become normalized. It is almost expected that coaches, parents and fans will disrespect the individuals serving as officials.
This culture of bad behavior and the negative perception of officials must change now. Everyone involved in high school sports — parents, coaches, administrators, fans, the media — must turn their focus to the student-athletes playing the games and away from the individuals officiating the contests. #BenchBadBehavior campaign

This is just one result of an undisciplined society that's breeding the next generation, the future looks very grim. The term "reap what you sow."
I get that people deal with poverty, but at the end of the day there's only 1 person you can blame for the situation you find yourself in, and that's you. There's only 1 person that can change the situation, and that's you.
Pretty good stuff though I prefer your own words to another's.1 CAT FAN wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 9:54 pmWhew! Decav, that's a lot to take in.
There's consequences for poor decisions, there's a lot of people making poor decisions.
Sooner or later the consequences of poor decisions catches up.
The Dorman community must be really blessed, the Mayberry of South Carolina. Andy kept the peace by just wearing a badge. No respect for a badge today.
As a Security Officer at the local hospital when I started in 2012 we were not required to carry a gun. That changed in a hurry, active shooters have become a norm across the country, sad to say. Everyday, I pray to God for the protection for the facility that we secure, for everyone to go home safe.
Bad behavior at high school football games, there's a reason why spectators have to go through a metal detector before entering the stadium. They don't want anyone making a very poor decision. There was a generation when that type of thing wasn't needed, the generation today have normalized them. Bad behavior starts in the home and the things in society that influence it. Satan's using everything at his disposal to influence us.
Bad behavior?
A few lines from Paul Harvey written in 1965.
“If I were the devil … If I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness. And I’d have a third of its real estate, and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree — Thee. So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first — I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.
To the young, I would whisper that ‘The Bible is a myth.’ I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what’s bad is good, and what’s good is ‘square.’ And the old, I would teach to pray, after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…
And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.
If I were the devil I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions — just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.
Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography — soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.
If I were the devil I’d take from those who have, and give to those who want until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.
And what do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would caution against extremes and hard work in Patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus, I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.”
Some call it "progress"
