There’s an unfortunate trend continuing in South Carolina and across the nation that must be stopped: the bad behavior of coaches, parents and fans at high school athletic events.

Not only is this behavior unacceptable and embarrassing, but it’s also having serious consequences on the future of high school sports.

Unfortunately, bad behavior at high school athletic events has become normalized. It is almost expected that coaches, parents and fans will disrespect the individuals serving as officials.

This culture of bad behavior and the negative perception of officials must change now. Everyone involved in high school sports — parents, coaches, administrators, fans, the media — must turn their focus to the student-athletes playing the games and away from the individuals officiating the contests. #BenchBadBehavior campaign

Poverty is the greatest curse on any society and we are seeing it play out in all directions here in the south now that all of our industry is gone. NAFTA brought us all of this and what we have seen is just the beginning; it will get much worse and may never get better. We must become much smarter as a society before there will be any improvement at all.

So something that happened almost 60 years ago is why people today can't go to a high school football game and act like civilized humans?

I get that people deal with poverty, but at the end of the day there's only 1 person you can blame for the situation you find yourself in, and that's you. There's only 1 person that can change the situation, and that's you.

You are 100% right. NAFTA happened in 1994 and it shut down over 70,000 American plants and industries ruining the careers of tens of millions of Americans and leaving untold numbers of people with no health insurance, life insurance or retirement. Financially, NAFTA cut the heads off of thousands of small industrial towns all across America and created black economic holes with no way to fill them. Remember something, people who have hope act entirely different from people who don't have hope. There is no hope in the hood, if you are born there all you know is no hope and that definitely effects how you act and plan your life moving forward.

Like I told you the last time we had this debate, you know nothing about my background. It's easy to be a victim and just give up, successful people man up and change their circumstances.

At some point, you have to do something for yourself.
