Well, I'm not entirely serious when I say I hope I get "there" one day. Some of these people I see struggle every day, that's true enough. But I doubt they're struggling with God. I once told Chuck that if Jesus comes again it seems as likely as not that it will be Republicans, maybe even Christians that crucify him. He seemed irritated at first but a few minutes later kinda laughed and admitted it made sense.

Asked my friend Matt hypothetically what he thought would happen if Christ returned during the Trump era. Matt said matter of factly that Christ would in all likelihood be perfectly safe because, under Trump's immigration policies, Christ would be banned from entering the country.

It is interesting though to see the way Christians treated the Pope's words about Trump and also fascinating that the first Sunday after Jan 6th a priest gave a sermon basically saying he'd been wrong to support him the way he did and about 3 dozen people stood up walked out on the priest over three services that day.

Here's a heck of a video...

Dude, check this out....

Don't know if you're read Gulag Archipelago but it's the next book I'm going to read. This is apparently THE book about the evil of communism/Marxism.

I'll tell you something you already know...

Most people out there blasting their horns about socialism and communism really have no idea what either is. I thought probably even through my twenties that people talking about that stuff knew what they were talking about. I will say this. I've had about three dozen conversations of Facebook with people who start talking about how Biden is going to turn the country into a socialist state. I start asking them some questions about what they know about socialism and communism the conversation just ends right there. They have zero that they can say about it either way. Blew my mind at first. And the thing is I know it's a failed form of government and I have some ideas about why it's worse than fascism.

Basically, going back to the traits of the right and left ideologies, conservatives tend to be high traits of conscientiousness in other words they're hard workers and rigid thinkers. Generally not as creative or flaky as liberals or as lazy either. For that reason, when government goes wrong on the right it might be like a star that burns too hot and bright and dies a quicker death in space. The fact that the right can work harder and faster on average than the left (I'm thinking Scorcerer's Apprentice) seems to signal to me that it gets to the end of its life cycle rather sooner than an authoritarian government on the left. It might be why Hitler is said to be responsible for 6 million deaths while Stalin might be responsible for 20 million.

Another source of the current logical incoherence for me is the insistence that Biden did nothing in 47 years of office including 8 years as VP but that in 4 years he's going to completely ruin America.

Interestingly enough I can actually play Devil's Advocate I believe to my own argument that I've leaned on when debunking this 47 year rule.

There has been a couple of smugly stated but ultimately poor and misleading metaphors I've seen meme'd around on Facebook over the last 6 months. One being about hiring a mechanic for 47 years to fix a car. The other being about hiring a roofer for 47 years to fix a leaky roof.

I pointed out that firstly, nobody hires a mechanic for 47 years to work on a car and neither is anyone patient enough to pay a carpentar for 47 years to fix a leaky roof.

Secondly, and more to the point, for the repairman metaphor to make any logical sense would mean that someone actually hired 100 mechanics or roofers to fix a problem and half of them are constantly trying to undo the work of the other half. No one ever came back with a reponse to that point.

But, now that Biden is a titular figure in government it does seem logical to infer that his capacity whether or good or ill to get things done is 100 times more effective/dangerous. Some conservatives might take comfort (probably not) in the fact that Biden is no darling of the far left media and pundits. TYT is daily producing shows about how Biden is closer to a Mitt Romney or John McCain than he is to the candidate that they want in the White House. The fact that he was buddy/buddy with McCain and Graham should indicate that we're a lot farther from a fringe movement in the White House like Antifa than some people fear.

I really don't know about Harris. The time will come when I should buckle down and do my homework on her. Centrists need eyes in the back of their heads now. They have to keep an eye on the nutjobs and boot-lickers on the right while making sure the crazies on the left don't subvert every single thing also.

So far the most worrisome thing I've seen is the EO about allowing transgenders to participate in women's sports. It seems really really crazy to me which usually means there's something I'm missing. Anyway, I'm going to spend the early part of Sunday morning listening to this lecture. Should be really good. I've heard you can read Gulag Archipelago and develop a mild form of PTSD because of how disturbingly scary and evil the actual things it details are about Stalin and the idealogy of the extreme left.

I can guarantee anyone who is following this thread though. Sit down and spend the 100 minutes on this youtube video and you'll destroy anyone in a debate or discussion about socialism or communism.
