This is lifted from our local newspaper about Northwestern's defense. Like most people, I enjoy watching a lot of points scored, however, I truly appreciate a quality defense. I am sure other teams in the state can put up similar stats...just passing this on as I found it interesting for our first 7 games:

Six of seven opponents held below 100 yards rushing, with the lone exception Woodside (Va.), which runs a wing-t offense.
Only giving up 1.9 yards per carry.
17 forced fumbles and nine recovered.
55 tackles-for-loss, including 21 sacks.
Four of seven opponents held to seven or fewer points.
Opponents scoring on just 6-of-15 visits into the Trojans’ defensive red zone.

Great post. I enjoy watching a good defense do its thing. NW has some very impressive stats on Defense. Very similar to Spartanburg which has shut down some so-called high powered offenses. Northwestern and Spartanburg both have High-Powered Offenses and great Defenses this year. I would like to see that matchup as I know that NW is better than they were when I seen them at Byrnes earlier this season. It doesn't look like it is going to happen though.

i have watched the DORMAN coach on tv state this may be the best
defense he has had at DORMAN.its nice to watch your team have
a defense where you don't worry about the offense having a
turn over.in 1982 96 won the 2a championship.they gave up
52 points in 14 games. SHELL DULA was the coach back then.
