This city lost the BEST high school coverage reporter when Barry Byers passed. If I didn't know better, I would have thought the local report on the game was written by the Byrne's beat writer!!!!!

Yes. We got it handed to us in the first half, but having lost 16 out of 22 starters, and against the level of quality that Byrnes brings, I think we did great in the 2nd half. Give credit where credit is due. We held Byrnes scoreless in the 2nd half and our offense showed great strides forward in just a few minutes of actual real game time. Overall, I think while everyone is disappointed in the loss, the way we spotted Byrnes 9 points in the first few minutes of the game and gave up a terrible 86 yard td right at the end of the 1st half due to many many many missed tackles, the final spread was only 8 points. Strictly from memory, I think this is the 3rd year in a row that the game was decided by 1 td. Neither side should consider that as over the top bragging rights.

No, it was not polished play that one would expect to see at the end of the season, but for a first game.........an outstanding game!

my 2 cents worth
