Re: SCPrepTalk SCHSL 5A-D1 Football Playoff Projection after Week 9
*Repeat of same information from D2 because it is relative to both D1 and D2 brackets.*
Notes about this projection....
Based on the Online rating outcomes
5A-1
HUGE games with Greenwood at Hillcrest(11/01), and Hillcrest at T.L. Hanna(11/08).
The Rams have an opportunity to throw this projection out with the trash if they can win both.
As the online power ratings have them losing their last two games.
If the power ratings' projected outcomes hold true. T.L. Hanna(1st in region) would have the advantage in the tiebreaker.
J.L. Mann would finish 2nd based on their win over Greenwood(3rd in Region), Hillcrest(4th in region).
Mauldin would come out on top of a 3-way tie for 5th. Greenville(6th in region) head-to-head over Woodmont(7th in region).
Personally hoping this projection is wrong, my Easley Green Wave have a chance to make their way into the playoffs by winning both of their final two games or by winning one game while avoiding 8th place in region.
Easley needs to finish 7th or better in region to have a chance for the playoffs.
5A-2
?????????????????????????????????
Still waiting on a response to emails sent for tiebreaker information.
Because all games weren't played in Region 2. This leaves the possiblity of a 3-way tie involving Boiling Springs, Dorman, and Gaffney for 2nd place.(4-2 in region)
All 3 teams didn't play each other so....
I'm guessing they might use a point differential involving common opponents in region play or 3rd quarter scores to break the tie.
Just a guess.
This would currently favor Boiling Springs(2nd in region),Dorman(3rd in region) due to head-to-head over Gaffney(4th).
The Indians can still win the region by taking their last two ball games.
5A-3 - "Thank you for the respones for the tiebreakers"
"If" Clover beats Catawba Ridge by more than 6 and gives up less than 20.
The Eagles will be 2nd place.
Catawba Ridge would then be (3rd in Region) based on head-to-head over Rock Hill(4th in region).
Big game with Clover vs. Catawba Ridge this week.
5A-7
Possible ties...
Stratford(3rd in region) due to head-to-head over Lucy Beckham(4th in region).
Wando (5th in region) due to head-to-head over Cane Bay(6th in region).
*If you know the actual tiebreakers for these regions, please POST or send an email to admin@scpreptalk.com
