We're pretty close, we both put Greenwood in 5 and Sumter in the Low Country. Those were the key decisions, the rest of the decisions are just a matter of preference. (Travel distance, traditional rivals)

Now that I look at it, I think I like your 7 & 8 split better.

We split up 4, 5 & 6 differently. That's an awful long haul from Lugoff to Murrell's Inlet. I took the opportunity to limit the length of regions 6 and put Hartsville and LE in 4. I'm thinking of moving Irmo & DF over into 4 as well to reduce region 5 to six teams. That would reduce the number of long-trips for the region 5 schools and Greenwood could schedule additional non-region games against their traditional rivals to their north.

Greenwood and Sumter almost have to move to make it work, don't they? I don't see this being a "major" problem but Greenwood would be the biggest "move" of the realignment. Sumter has to travel no matter where they end up.

This is one I debated quite a bit... I know they did LE as Region 6 for football only a few years ago and I thought they may do that again. Moving LE back to Region 4 and cross bracket for the odd man out game with Region 6 might work better as they would only have one trip like you described.

The Playoff bracket this season
is going to be filled with surprises,
since no one can figure out how it works!

Johnsonville, Lake City moving up in classifications
Lou Bezjak | Morning News | SCNow.com

Lake City and Johnsonville will be moving up classifications if the proposed realignment for 2014-16 gets approved.

The Panthers will be moving from Class 2A to Class 3A, while the Flashes will be going from Class A to Class 2A.

< Excerpt - full article at headline link >

A sidebar to the article lists the teams in each class. It confirms Bluffton is in 4A, Hartsville in 3A.
I'm verifying the rest of the list now.

Yes it does suck for Greenwood. Did the Lex to North Aug back in the 80's. Back then had to travel to O/W that sucked. But travel is still about an Hour to Hour and Half no to bad.

We're in region 4A-6, we know all about travel. Greenwood is getting a raw deal for two years, but it's nothing compared to what O/W, Sumter, Conway, Wilson and many others have had to endure.

Welcome to the board. :D

Yes I am glad to be around. Thanks for starting this board. The travels some low state teams have to make do not compare to the short travels some in the upstate have to endure. Gwd has always had to travel at least an hour so 1 1/2 hrs is not so bad I guess!

Does anyone know of any schools that appealed their classification? The deadline was June 1.
