First of all, we all know that high school football is far from an exact science and the best team doesn't always win. If you have any doubts or questions, see Byrnes -vs- Chapman....

However, it looks like this should be a game that produces a lot of offense; especially for the Rebels. I am biased, but I think Region II is the strongest Region in 5A from #1 to #5 and I think that Dorman could have won a first round game against several other teams that were #1 or #2 seeds. I feel that Byrnes should win this game due to their strong defense and the fact that their offense seems to be clicking on all cylinders now and the home field advantage has to help as well.

Give me the Rebels 31-14
.

With a wet field, and a GREAT running game and a strong defense, I think the Rebels would have the advantage....

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

This time of year having a history of post season success helps a lot IMO. kids that are used to big games aren't phased by "big games." Hillcrest is pretty one dimensional (McFadden), the QB is nice but he came from Easley, he's not used to this type of playoff environment or this level of competition. I may be wrong but I see Byrnes winning in the end by a margin they decide. I like Coach Swag @ Hillcrest but I don't know if they can win this one.

Well, I never thought we were the best, but we played two quarters and three plays like we were...

Then we started our routine "play to not get beat" mode instead of "PLAY TO WIN THE GAME" mode and you guys took full advantage of that mode. Congratulations to the RAMS!

The writing has been on the wall for 7 years now. Byrnes plays not to lose, instead of just trying to bury everyone they play. I thought this team was talent enough to win state in spite of the coach’s mentality, I was wrong. Byrnes need some new blood at the top or 9-3 and a region title once a decade will continue to be the norm. The talent from 20 years ago hasn’t went anywhere, just the mentality.

I was wrong about my pick. Congrats to the Rams. Don't let this victory be your super bowl and slip up against Mann.
Best of luck to the Rams!

Somethings need to change, when you talk about mentality ! That mentality still lives in Lyman and that mentality would be getting a call to come back home after his season!

As far as this season , to win a region title with just record wise was a down year! Gaffney is very good don't get me wrong , and to win @ Gaffney is huge but this team SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR A STATECHAMPIONSHIP I am hearing with the mass exit of certain players transferring out, Byrnes will only be a glorified JV team!

I think those certain players may stick around, but a change is needed at the top. Can’t keep hanging it on the OC. 5 OCs in 7 years. OC isn’t the problem, HC is. Great guy, but he has reach his ceiling. If Byrnes wants to be elite you better have an elite coach and we haven’t since 2013.
