From where it stands right now...Top 5
1. Dutch Fork- OL, DL and secondary are loaded. 3 really good QBs, 2 RBs that will do great work, good TEs/WRs...and the Carolina GOAT.
2. Fort Dorchester- Return a lot of talent but will really miss their QB
3. Gaffney- Same as #2
4. Dorman- Might be the second best team in the state but have to give the Indians and Patriots their due..
5. Spartanburg- Same as #2 but I think Hodge will find a way
HM- Northwestern, South Pointe, Summerville, adding Byrnes
What do you think, folks?

Spartanburg young freshman from this past year now RB resides in Duncan now, along with a lot of talent to go with him.DFOLDMAN wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 8:45 amFrom where it stands right now...Top 5

I thought Byrnes would be better last year than they were. Lots of talent. What about 2023? Probably at least a HM team.
What do they have coming back?

They return a bunch, plus should have more
Consistent qb play this year. The defense will win them a lot of games by itself. Maybe the best 1-2 punch in the backfield in the state.

It will be interesting to see who wins the QB job for the Silver Foxes, not sure I would put my money on anyone being the clear cut favorite at this point.

Not sure I would put all that much faith in Spartanburg. Hodge is a good coach, but have to break in a new QB, and if that running back did transfer to Byrnes is that a move of necessity, or deeper issues at Spartanburg that made him want to leave. Either way, his absence will be rough to fill.

Yep. Very true. Hunt had the most snaps last season in substitution for Appler, but was unfamiliar with the offense. He is going to be a good QB- big kid, strong arm...grown man, physically reminds me of Underwood from the Olenchuk era. That being said, it is going to really hard to keep Offing on the sideline. Talent....saw him develop as a football player from his very young days as one of the ball boys for DF. Same for Smith- though I could definitely see Smith playing other positions on either side of the ball. WR/DB... he is a gamer. Good problem to have there in Ballentine.

Good list. I would put Northwestern in the top 5 ahead of Spartanburg. Ton of returners on both sides minus the OL. We will see how that part shakes out.

Well I heard a while back Rock Hills dynamic QB is going to transfer to Gaffney….wether that’s just a rumor or not, I have no idee.but top 5 I don’t thinks so…just have to see how all them sophomores that started last year mature..could easily be a 1 and 4 to start the season, but the Indians never start really playing good ball until cool weather gets here..no matter the QB we always a tough out come playoff time..

Everyone I've talked to this offseason has said nothing but great things about Offing, excited to see how this battle plays out during spring ball and summer.DFOLDMAN wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 12:24 pmYep.
